Doing the Right Thing

Doing the right thing doesn't necessarily mean doing the easiest thing. Sometimes doing the right thing is difficult; you disappoint people, and you can isolate yourself. But what matters is that you've stood up for what you believe in, what you know to be right. That is what matters. That is what makes the world a better place.

Change

A new city, a new house, a new job. No friends, no pets, no family. Unpacked boxes, unfamiliar streets, unknown future. I’ve never been so lost, and I’ve never felt so much at home.

Create

Last night we had a mural dedication at work. A nationally-recognized artist painted the word "Create" graffiti-style on a wall within our complex. It was awesome to see numerous people from multiple disciplines to come together to celebrate creativity.

Tuesday in Greensboro

Today in Greensboro my work group continued work on a wheelchair ramp for Dorothy. Dorothy is a happy mother of 4 grown children. Dorothy was paralized from the waist down after falling in her bedroom. Her outlook on life is very positive. Even though her air conditioning was out, she thanked God for what she had and had great advice to share with us. She is very excited to come and share her experiences with everyone at program on Thursday night if we finish her wheelchair ramp by then.

Mission Trips

The time you spend to help other people in life will reward you 10 fold. People all over the world take time out of their lives to make the world a better place. It is a pleasure to know a group of teens from my home town that will be taking their summer mission trip next week and I wish them well on their journey. The things you learn and the people you meet will change your life in a positive way. With a smile on your face and A Positive Attitude have fun.

Beach Day

Walking barefoot down the beach, I saw children playing under the watchful smiles of their parents, dogs running in and out of the water, couples sitting close together. I stopped when I saw the wedding, a small gathering, a young couple beaming at each other. Smiling to myself, I said a quiet wish for their eternal happiness and gave them their privacy.

Starry Night

Seated around the campfire last night, I leaned back slightly in my chair and gazed up into the heavens. Clouds were thin and sparse, leaving open a wide window to the stars. I marveled at the thousands upon thousands of pin-point lights scattered across the black canvas sky.
