Positive Stories

Outlook

Even the easiest task can become a major challenge when you do it reluctantly. Rather than approaching every activity as just something to overcome, look at everything as a new opportunity.

Connections

For one month, write a letter every day, to a different person every day. It doesn’t matter who the letter’s for—someone you already talk to frequently, or someone you miss keeping in touch with, or even a total stranger. Put some time and love into the letters, too—make them important.

Smiles

I was talking to a friend the other day, and he commented about how when he interacts with people from outside of this area who are here to visit (he works in the service industry), they often remark on how kind people are. My thoughts and prayers go out to the people affected; what is heartwarming is the outpouring of support we are seeing for these people and their communities. The human spirit truly shines in times of trials and tribulation; this is yet another example.

Perseverance

Sadness happens—it’s inevitable. And when we’re sad, we all tend to focus on everything that’s wrong with the world, everything that’s falling apart. Why look deeper into the darkness though? It won’t achieve anything. Make an effort to turn your back on all the shadows, and turn your face into the sun.
